NEWS! COVID-19 Outbreak
We would like to wish all our members, exhibitors, suppliers and their families well during this unprecedented crisis.
Artists in particular seem to fall between the Government’s help schemes. We have spoken to hundreds of artists who are struggling on a day to day basis, we can only hope that things get back to normal as soon as possible and we wish all of you good luck.
We are monitoring the situation carefully and will advise on current and future exhibitions once we have news. Many, many thanks to all of you, who have taken the time to wish BAE and its staff well during the outbreak. Take care, stay safe, we'll be back soon, the BAE & WAE team.
Manchester 2020 Vision & Corvid-19 Statement
This is, without doubt, one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make since our business started, just 22 months ago.
However due to increasing concerns about the spread of COVID-19 the decision has been made to postpone the Manchester 2020 exhibition. Visit www.BritishArtExhibitions.com for latest updates.
This decision was not made lightly but with the World Health Organisation declaring the spread of COVID-19 a pandemic we have to consider the safety of our exhibitors, attendees, and staff.
While the UK government is yet to ban public gatherings, the situation is changing daily, and we feel the current anxiety surrounding COVID-19 will impact the success of the event as people try and avoid infection. It is also important to note that several exhibitors are travelling from overseas including; Asia, The Middle East, Europe, America and Canada.
These international artists would have to self-isolate for 14 days, an almost impossible thing to do as a visitor/traveller to the UK. We also have major concerns that the show, like other events, would be avoided both by our guests and the general public. As such, and with all the facts currently available to us, we are proposing to postpone the show until September to make the exhibition a complete success.
To this end, we have contacted our venue and hope to confirm a new date within the next month. This will hopefully allow our guests, charities, subcontractors, and suppliers time to confirm their availability. Trust that we are working as hard as we can to find a date that doesn’t conflict with other events, and offers the best opportunity for success, as quickly possible.
We appreciate your understanding that this decision has been made out of an abundance of caution and everyone’s best interests in mind. Once a new date has been arranged we will confirm this via email.
We are considering our options for the Harrogate 2020 as the outbreak develops and will keep all exhibitors informed. Visit www.BritishArtExhibitions.com for latest updates.
